Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Go All-In on Camera Upgrades

Google has unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, complete with a raft of automated, AI-powered tools designed to bolster your creative endeavours. The new Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models dial up the capabilities for photography and performance thanks to some next-generation additions and Google Tensor, the tech giant’s first-ever processor.

In terms of performance, Google claims the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models are the fastest Google phones yet. With up to 80 per cent faster performance than the previous model the latest iterations promise to run smoother, open apps faster and deliver more responsive gaming.

All this comes by way of Tensor’s advanced on-device AI, which powers additions like speech recognition and improved image processing. It’s here that Google really flexes its creative muscle.

According to the tech company, the main sensor captures 150 per cent more light than the Pixel 5, a feat that is helped by some handy new features. Face Unblur appears to be a stabilising-like function that allows you to ensure faces remain in focus, while the Magic Eraser allows you to edit and remove unwanted sections from your shots. There is also Motion Mode which captures action shots and long-exposures, alongside Real Tone which is set to deliver more accurate portraits.

The new Google Pixel 6 comes in three colours – Sorta Seafoam, Kinda Coral and Stormy Black and starts from AUD$999, while the Pixel 6 Pro comes in Sorta Sunny, Cloudy White and Stormy Black, starting from AUD$1,299.
