After a lengthy delay, Amazon Prime Day is finally coming back to Australia.
Starting at midnight on Tuesday the 13th of October and running until 11:59 pm AEST October 14, Aussies can grab a huge range of deals in tech, fashion, homewares, and heaps more, right from the Amazon website. Also, if you’re feeling like you need a little extra shopping time you can head over to the Amazon US store and jump on to their prime day for an extra 18 hours of shopping – ending at 6 pm on October 15 – giving Australian shoppers a total of 66 hours to catch a discount.
What is Amazon Prime Day
To celebrate Amazon’s 20th anniversary as a company in 2015, the Amazon US store launched Amazon Prime Day. With so many deals that it rivalled even Black Friday, the day quickly evolved into one of the internets biggest mid-year sales event where members of Amazon Prime could score a bunch of exclusive discounts on a wide range of items. What started as a short 24-hour sale has since grown to a massive 66-hour event for Aussie who aren’t afraid of getting on board with the US Deals.
To be clear, Amazon Prime Day is an exclusive sale only available to their paying members. If you want to get access to the deals you’ll have to sign up as an Amazon Prime member before or during the event. A membership will cost you AUD$6.99 a month or AUD$59 a year, which isn’t that bad. But, if you haven’t signed up before theirs a handy 30-day free trial available that’ll let you get access to the deals plus a plethora of other perks like Prime Video, Prime Reading and Prime Gaming all without paying a cent.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2020?
In 2020, Amazon delayed their usual July Prime Day for obvious reasons opting to move the day to October to kick off the sales season with a bang.
Amazon Prime Day 2020 starts at 12 AM on Tuesday the 13th of October and will run until Until 11:59 pm on Wednesday, October 14.
