Bentley’s Bentayga Speed is getting a facelift with a new design that has been added to the existing, proven mechanicals of kast year’s Speed. What does that mean? The new car looks even better and continues to live up to its name.
The new Bentley Bentayga Speed is the only way that consumers will be able to get Bentley’s twin-turbo 6.0-litre W-12 in a Bentayga. This powerhouse engine is capable of 626 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power to take the Speed from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds. The Speed tops out at 190 miles per hour. That should be enough to retain the title of the fastest production SUV in the world. While those are the same mechanicals from the previous version, what is new for the Speed is the design. The underlying structure remains unchanged as well as the roof and door skins. The rest has been heavily revised. The Speed is now wider and lower. The headlights have received a dark tint, and the side skirts are the same colour as the body. The grille is also dark-tinted. New and unique 22-inch wheels have been added in. The tailgate spoiler is longer, and the tailpipes are oval in shape. If you want a darker and sportier look, you can opt for the Black Specification, which takes all the exterior brightwork and replaces it with dark accents done in either gloss black or carbon fibre. The Black Specification Bentaygas also have a front splitter, spoiler, and side sills all done in carbon fibre. The wheels and the exhaust pipes are also blacked out.
Inside, the Speed is receiving similar treatments as what was done for the Flying Spur and Continental GT, which means you’ll see a 10.9-inch touchscreen under the central air vent and clock, which is designed to resemble the winged B logo. The digital dash is configurable. The steering wheel and seats have also been redesigned. Everything is done in plush Alcantara, or you can opt for leather instead. The 2021 Bentayga Speed will be sold for USD$245,000 in the US, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific in the first quarter of 2021.
