Fisker’s Electric Off-Road SUV Handles Military & Rescue Operations

Fisker’s Ocean SUV is ready for military and rescue operations. The new rendering of the SUV shows it with off-road tires, a wider stance, and “UN” lettering on it, which the car builder calls the Force E.

In addition to the wider stance and off-road tires, the Force E also comes equipped with high-intensity lighting and a bull bar on the front. The spare is kept on the hood as the Ocean doesn’t have a “frunk” for storage. Instead, that “frunk” space will be filled with a portable water tank. A tap near the license plate works to dispense the water. Additional renderings show the SUV with a roof rack that has auxiliary lighting. The Force E is an all-wheel-drive model and comes with extra ground clearance. It also has a brush guard and tow hooks. Rescue operations often benefit from having a readily available source of energy, so the Force E will also have a plug on the tailgate to run external power.

“The Force E package was initiated to cover market segments including rescue vehicles, military personnel movements on military bases, police vehicles, municipalities and international organizations promoting a cleaner planet,” said Fisker in a press release. “Over 22,000 people from 116 countries have shown interest in the 2022 Fisker Ocean EV, with the majority of paid reservations coming from North America.” Fisker also announced ideas for other packages, but won’t be sharing details until the fourth quarter of 2020.

As for the Ocean, Fisker plans to start production in 2021, with the first customer models rolling off the line in the second half of 2022. That could mean that the Force E will be available sometime between the two dates. Reservations are already open for the Ocean, which has a starting price of $37,499. With plenty of interest already, rescue and military operations might just be done in a Force E in the very near future.
