‘Stakes are Ukraine’ – Elon Musk Challenges Vladimir Putin to a Duel on Twitter
Leaders worldwide have condemned Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, but Elon Musk wants to take it a step further. The tech billionaire and current world’s richest man has challenged the Russian President to a one-on-one duel on Twitter, sending the social media platform into even more chaos than usual.

“I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine,” Musk tweeted overnight, with Putin’s name and Ukraine written in Cyrillic script.
Musk then tagged Putin’s official Twitter account in a follow-up tweet and wrote in Russian, “Do you agree to this fight?”
However, not everyone was vibing Musk’s Twitter fingers. Dmitry Rogozin, director general of Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, called Musk a “little devil” and “weakling”.
“You, little devil, are still young, Compete with me weakling; It would only be a waste of time. Overtake my brother first,” Rogozin replied. He also wrote the name of the 1800s Russian poem “The Tale of the Priest and of His Workman Balda,” which tells the story of a lazy priest who hires a cheap worker before the worker drives him insane.

Some Ukrainian leaders backed Musk’s tweet, including Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who shared a link to a website taking donations to “send Putin to Jupiter.”
Musk’s comments come after providing internet access to Ukraine through his satellite internet company, Starlink. The embattled country’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Musk on Twitter on March 5, announcing more of Musk’s Starlink systems would be sent over as people flee the country.
