“The colour black plays a big part in our Maison’s essence and is core to the brand’s identity, even as it evolved over the years to become the Maison of Luxury business Lifestyle,” Nicolas Baretzki, Montblanc CEO said. “The piece and their functionality, while unified by their black design, were carefully selected based on the everyday needs and mindset of those who don’t just strive to succeed, but who leave a mark with everything they do, always with meaning and purpose.”

The new 1858 Geosphere Ultrablack Limited Edition lives up to its name by stylishly combining black and white colors, and mixing in some metal finishes. The watch comes in a 42mm stainless steel case that has been distressed for a unique look. The dial also features two sub dials that represent the northern and southern hemispheres of the globe that actually turn to track the 24-hour scale and day/night rotation.

A date window is located at 3 o’clock and a seconds sub dial at 9 o’clock. The bezel is bi-directional, and the dial features white luminescent rhodium-coated Arabic numerals and indexes. An MB 29.25 movement powers the watch. On the back of the watch is an engraving of the Mont Blanc mountain with crossing ice picks and a compass.

The design further features engravings of Mount Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Klimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson, and Puncak Jaya. The watch comes on a black leather, two-stitch strap with a deployment clasp. Montblanc is adding the 1858 Geosphere Ultrablack Limited Edition to their “What Moves You, Makes You” campaign. The watch is limited to just 858 pieces and each is priced at $6,900.

“Montblanc UltraBlack collection offers smart wearable technology for enhanced connectivity, leather pieces for seamless mobility, writing instruments for bold ideas and creativity, watches for audacious elegance,” Baretzki said.
